Filmmaker Cam Archer examines and explores his ordinary, suburban neighborhood in search of hidden truths, new narratives and a better understanding of his fading, creative self. Combining heavily degraded video with personal photographs and real life neighbors, Archer re-imagines the concept of 'home video'. In an attempt to distance himself from his subjects, actress Jena Malone narrates the piece as Archer in the first person.

About Cam Archer
Cam Archer, a writer and occasional filmmaker, was born in Santa Cruz, California. Archer began making films in the early 2000s with schoolmate Aaron Platt, who introduced Archer to super-8 and then later 16mm. Together, with Archer as writer/director and Platt as cinematographer, the pair produced numerous shorts and music videos, building an aesthetic that led them to Archer’s feature films, Wild Tigers I Have Known and Shit Year, which premiered at Sundance and Cannes, respectively. Since 2011, Archer has been making work mostly on his own, short personal documentaries like Their Houses, His Image, Cam’s Mementos, and Oh Paulo. Archer is also a MacDowell Colony Fellow and a Creative Capital grant recipient. He currently resides in Capitola, California.
