Andries Botha (b.1952) creates sculptural forms made of found objects and natural materials which serve to interrogate the natural and social order. His work has been exhibited extensively throughout Africa and Europe. Botha lives and works in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

In this interview Botha notes, "I think everybody who makes creative work will understand how extraordinarily vulnerable you are when you go into the public arena. You look for signifiers. You look for people to kind of hold you.”

Through a successful national and international distribution service, the VDB distributes video art, documentaries made by artists, and recorded interviews with visual artists, photographers and critics.
