They just flew in from New York, and boy, are their arms tired... Out in the Nevada desert, against the windblown backdrop of Air Force bomber training sites, artists Hajoe Moderegger and Franziska Lamprecht — better known as eteam — gathered testimonials of stranded passengers, crew members, and local residents to recall an episode in the lost annals of American aviation: the 2006 "unscheduled layover" at International Airport Montello (IAM). Truth in Transit reaches beyond simple documentation. Channeling the collective imagination of its participants for their own point of departure, this video embellishes the dream of an airport through the interwoven accounts of fictional afflictions, flying, flypaper, the paranormal, and the all-too-normal.

Truth in Transit stands out as an instance of ensemble performance, but one that is like a consensual hallucination. A body of participants, never abandoning who they are, but simply adding a second skin of theatricality and the enlistment in this grand phantasm that is IAM.
