Visit Us

The Video Data Bank Screening Room is free and open to the public by appointment. To schedule a viewing time please call 312.345.3550 or email our Distribution Manager with the following information: 

Name • Phone • Email Address • Requested Date & Time • Requested Titles

We will respond to confirm your appointment. The screening room can fit 3-4 guests comfortably. If you are planning to visit the VDB with a large group, please contact info@vdb.org so we can work with you to facilitate access.

Location

The VDB is located in a School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) building: 36 S Wabash Ave, 14th Floor. Located at the Northwest corner of Wabash and Monroe.

Accessible by public transportation: Red Line (Monroe) • Brown/Purple/Green/Orange Line (Adams/Wabash) • Blue Line (Monroe)

Screening Room Policies

  • The maximum duration for each booking is two hours, unless a special research exception is granted.
  • The screening room will be held open for no longer than fifteen minutes after your allocated start time. If you are running late please call us.
  • If possible, please select in advance the titles you wish to view. We cannot guarantee titles will be available if selected on the day of viewing.
  • Please leave the screening room tidy, with all equipment and lights switched off as a courtesy to the next guest.
